Had some cheap white rice, about 30 cents worth, can of fire roasted tomato chunks (49 cents), and can of pinto beans (59 cents) Adding some homemade biscuits or flat bread (50 cents) and for around 2 dollars with some spices thrown in you can feed a family of four!
We made this, had some leftover the next day and threw it in a salad. Yum, the mixture tasted like their was meat in it, delicious, nutritious, and inexpensive, a win, win for sure.
