Most of us senior citizens remember when America was great. We remember proudly saying the pledge of allegiance in school. We remember showing respect for our soldiers in parades and the flag they carried leading the way. We remember watching Walter Cronkite tell us the news in the evening, not his opinion. We remember having civil disagreements with friends and neighbors while remaining friends. We remember when it was rare to not have a father in the home. We remember when decency was encouraged and bad behavior was frowned upon. We are the generation that wants America to be great again not because it's a good vision but because that is how we knew her and we know what America is capable of.
