Hospitals setting up frontline medical staff

I am a nurse in a large hospital in the northeast United States. We are always busy. No covid ever, just the usual out of control acute on chronic diabetic, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and other medical patients having millions problems that are chronic and ongoing.

Today, we were informed that "any staff member who contracts covid or a covid positive test result" will be considered as "not being properly compliant with masks and PPE directives". They force swabbed multiple staff today.

In other words, it is the fault of the employee if he gets sick. Therefore no COVID or sick pay for frontline workers as it is their own fault if they contract the disease, no matter what the circumstances.

They are also swabbing us and doing temps at the door to work and if positive for anything or feel unwell with nausea, or fever, or fatigue, or any other possible symptom of anything at all; we are barred from work without pay, and deemed liable for our own unpaid suspension for (assumed) "not being compliant with PPE policy and getting ourselves sick".

We all wear masks and goggles at all times. Everyone is compliant.

But if any of us even get the fucking flu or a case of regular old sinusitis we are FUCKED. Management is able to say "you must be lying about wearing PPE at all times and now you have 'COVID', so kiss your paycheck bye bye"

Thanks to all of all these dumb rules and other management fascism tactics that are driving people to walk out and quit, we are running with such dangerous staffing levels that the hospital cannot function.

They cannot open all the beds they need because they cannot staff them, etc. Which of course will feed the whole "overwhelmed hospital" covid narrative, as well as cause mistakes and deaths that overstretched, under-resourced, and drowning staff working short will get blamed for.

Hospital managers are 100% setting the frontline staff up for punishment and 100% setting us up to fail. They are screwing staff, creating unsafe and lethal conditions for patients and using covid as a cover to intentionally short staff and get rid of employees in order to spiral more chaos.

Management must be in complete compliance with the center for medicare services and their agenda, which is to kill patients off in any way they can in order to save medicare from having to pay for their care. Sadly, nurses doctors who have no control over unsafe staffing levels will get the blame.

Who needs a pandemic when you have the CMS destroying the hospitals' ability to function via their flying monkey agents employed in hospital administration?
