Biden Jr. As in the first debate, each candidate will be allotted two minutes of speaking time to initially answer the moderator’s questions. But under a plan being finalized by the commission on Monday, his opponent’s microphone would be turned off during that period, an attempt to ensure an uninterrupted response. After the candidates finish their two-minute replies, they would be allowed to freely engage with one another for the remainder of the segment. (The debate is divided into six segments of 15 minutes apiece.) [ link to www.nytimes.com (secure)] Last Edited by Captain KC Jones on 10/19/2020 08:41 PM |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79510625 Because the rules that both campaigns agreed to is that each candidate would be allowed two minutes to respond to questions, without interruption. As you know, that didn't happen in the first debate. |
