Generally kids dont infect adults or each other
( numerous studies among schools that have never closed)

What did they think would happen when everyone’s immune system has been locked up for 7 months and weakened

Let it run through the schools, be back in school in 14 days
Teachers with risk factors should wait it out and all teachers should be on prophylactics

This is what makes me mad. Someone writes my name down and now my life is turned upside down for NOTHING.

We just had a kid at youth group go to the er for an injury. They tested her with a rapid test. Positive. But the Dr said they are getting a ton of false positives and that she needed to go somewhere for another test. Went the next day to be tested, results in three days.

Meanwhile we have to cancel a Bible study, talking about cancelling youth group.

Surprise! Test was negative.

Do you know how many kids and how many schools and how many jobs could have been affected had this false positive person given the names of everyone she'd been in contact with? Not just at church, but school and wherever else. It's all crap.

Schools here still haven't opened. I expect the same to happen with cases here though once they do. They're already on the rise without the schools being open.

I know, it really is messed up.

All the quarantined teachers have to do it, which will probably lead to more quarantined teachers, parents have to be notified.

It really is a mess.

This is all so crazy.

And at this point it's a "I was in contact with a person who was in contact with someone who was in contact with someone who was in contact with someone who tested positive, but was never sick."

When I was in school, had a really great History/Law teacher. She was scary to the grade 8 students, but LOVED by the seniors, because she wanted to teach people to learn to research and write, akin to university level papers, by the time they were grads, and she wanted them in law to really debate and think for themselves. I had to write the minority paper, but was usually right on when it came to the case our case was based on.

She got sick easily. We had a rule that if you missed more than 20 days in a school year you had to write the finals even if you were an A or B student.

I was overall an A student, but C+ for half the time due to missing many weeks of school. I was not sick for 3 days, would be sick for 3 weeks at a time. So I averaged out at B for most courses.

And she witnessed me going to my locker during one of my long absenses, with a peeling nose and definitely didn't look well. And she thanked me for not being in school.

Later I found out she was my advocate in the board rooms and due to her, I didn't have to ever write finals because my average grade was high enough to be excused from them.



Now I think every kid has to write finals.

And I'm really happy my kids are finally through school, because they made me sick so many times I nearly died.

Covid is just a flu/cold. And yes there are deaths, especially they didn't give them vitamins, zinc and antibiotics like 15% of the population always requires.

Wierd part is, they haven't officially announced anything yet, and are telling the quarantined teachers to not say anything to any other teachers.

Why the secrecy?

Are they waiting on a follow up test? Maybe waiting to see if it's a false positive like the kid I know?

BS on a positive case. What "CT" value was used to determine positive??

I'm not sure, all the tests are in.

Even one student has tested positive.

Maybe to avoid a panic or parents pulling their kids?

We're not sure yet, but its a total mess.

My wife is an inclusion teacher for special ed, so she goes into every classroom on campus and pulls special ed kids for one-on-one instruction, so she was basically in contact with almost everyone.

Not sure about that man.

My wife hasn't even been tested yet.

District health services is calling in a while and I'll update the thread.

Ok, district health services just called.

My wife will be working from home during quarantine to avoid having to use her allotted 10 sick days a year and to remain fully paid.

She does not have to have a COVID test unless she has symptoms, then there is an emergency health form she has to fill out and send in to remain paid while she recovers so she doesn't have to burn her sick days.

This is a mess but the district is proving to be pretty efficient in dealing fairly with teachers so far.

Bullshit. Unless the courts put her under house arrest she can report to work as an essential worker.

When the principal and the district tells you you have to quarantine, you do what they say.

You don't pitch a constitutional fit.

The rules the district stated is that if you are in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for 15 minutes are more, then you are forced quarantined.

This is how they will justify the vaccines.

Any little fever, the common cold, the flu, any positive test breeds fear of COVID.

Everything is COVID.

Its all fear based.

Be sure your wife has her resume ready to go out just encase they decide to enforce mandatory vaccinations on teachers.
