I don't fathom Hunter dropping off his laptop at a Delaware repair shop knowing it held incriminating material.
Make since it was a hit on him but maybe not by the Russians or the Chinese but by someone who could get access to the laptop and wanted to seek justice for the kids.

As an IT professional, I had a satellite company call me to recover their storage system that crashed. Turns out all 16TB of that storage was CP. The main storage for their "satellite broadcasting company" was all fucking CP. I of course turned them in the FIB, but nothing ever came of it. They still operated and shut down a few years later.
