It's possible for investigators to determine the printer that printed that, and therefore finding the party who printed it.

I've seen this posted as happening in Missouri, Cincinnati and now Oklahoma.

Trouble is, every post uses the same picture of the same note with the same rips in it with the same exact text.

I think it's perhaps true in one instance but due the gravity of the situations, others are trying to promote using made up stories and reposting.

It does make me want to go out and carpet my property in Trump signs to invite this kind of a note and response from my liberal neighbors. I'd hate to be the first one to light that Molotov cocktail at my house.

If I got this note, I'd call the police and get an investigation going and get it part of the public record and if a mob did come to do this and I had to use lethal force then this just adds evidence I was in harms way.

In principle, I hear that... but if it's from someone's personal printer and no one caught them on camera or saw the person it would be tricky trying to catch them.

If they bought it on Craigslist using dummy email and cash, it may be tricky.

partially correct.what you dont know. is every printer has a hidden code somewhere printed with invisible ink/heated on with the drum cartridge/fuser module.
every printer maker has this technology. it's used for cases such as this. money laundering. and such..

experienced as a tech for Xerox.

Someone at the FBI could find who printed this in 10 minutes.
Someone at the NSA could find who printed this in 10 seconds.

As mentioned above every printer prints an invisible code. If the printer ever made a connection to the manufacturer (and it almost surely has) then the guy is busted. Did he buy the printer with a card, or give his phone number? Use his own internet? Use a computer that's ever checked his email or been on his social media?

It's easy to stay anonymous, but it requires good common sense and discipline.
