I am sure I've heard of this organ being discovered before in the past, somewhere...

I remember reading a couple of years back where they discovered a new part of our knee also. I thought DiVinci way back then, and scientists up to now, had done enough research to know every little bit of what made us function. Pretty weird.

Either we've always had these "extra" organs/glands/bones etc that haven't been discovered yet or, we're mutating!! Lol...

Not to mention several similar stories recently, all related to alleged proof of evolution. Is it the MSM trying lend credibility to science after the covid debacle, government propaganda, typical click bait bullshit repeated from the past or genetic mutations caused by radiation exposure post Fukishima. We'll never know.

I do find it interesting, whatever the reason may be for these sudden discoveries...

My personal opinion, would be that I lean more towards that we've always had them but they just aren't discovered in us until later medical advances etc...

Or, we really could be mutating, lol...

I don't have a definitive answer to it, I am just genuinely interested...

That is most interesting! Thanks OP. While on the subject of organs in the throat, my generation (70's kids) were under attack as the doctors were busy getting everyone's tonsils removed. We were told it was a useless organ but now, as an adult who questions everything we have been told, I really wonder what function the tonsils served. Everything is there for a reason. Were doctors just trying to make a quick buck or was there some concerted effort to remove an organ that might help prolong our lives. Just a thought...CARRY ON!

Yes, everything is there for a reason... they say this about the appendix also but I believe it is still actually one of our important organs that we need/should leave alone in there...

I often suffered with my tonsils as well as a child... I refused to let them take them out...my parents did too...

Some Drs are in it for a quick profit off us but I have met a couple of genuine ones out there that I could trust, but only because of me having worked in and experience in the medical field previously...I can't speak for everyone on that as we all have had our experiences with them etc...

I wouldn't let them take anything out of me unless it was absolutely necessary...

As for the function/use of our tonsils? Well, the main function is to trap germs... (bacteria, viruses, etc) that we breathe in...

They are a part of our immune system...
