First, the military will take sides, their own. And both candidates would get replaced with a general and a new election would be held. Civil war is not worth debating. Most likely contested but the only force in the world that could stop the American military would be the American military nothing else.

civil war needs two armies. USA would have regional conflicts, MAYBE, between self proclaimed, privately funded militias. But the national guard would be called in to restore order.

oh and dont believe secession. because if that state can secede so can the counties within them stay with the union. So it would only be a liberal city wanting to leave usa, like seattle.

Not really... there’s what, maybe 1,500,000 active duty? How many of those are support personnel? It takes quite a few people to keep all the machinery running, not to mention the logistics of keeping those who are battle ready supplied and fed.

How many deer hunters are there in the US? Over 11 million, all armed with rifles that could take down a man at range. How many armed with weapons who don’t hunt? Millions more.
