Then deploy land based Nukes.

It is Taiwan prerogative to what it wants.

A mutual defense pact US + Taiwan benefits both countries.

It gives Taiwan full protection from United States.

And gives United States an important geo-strategic asset to deploy tens of thousands of Troops to combat Chinese aggression, and promote peace and stability in the region.
