Burn only as small amount of WELL-SEASONED WOOD as you can (it burns with less smoke than new wood) by staying in the room you are going to live in, and shutting the doors to that room and by closing off all other rooms where there is no wood stove. Burning wood will be outlawed soon on environmental grounds. Fires emit particles that are a health and environmental hazard.
