I love 511 tactical! I have several pieces I got there, including a 511 Tactical shirt. I buy Christmas presents for my sons there.
As far as the rush to buy guns and military equipment, that's just the people that were not properly prepared before. I think most of us on GLP are perfectly happy with the preps we already have. I'm a little nervous about all the first time gun buyers. Most of them have no safety training at all. I don't care that they can't hit the broad side of a barn, but they could accidentally hit me, or someone I love.
Quoting: Epic Beard Guy Yepper - I agree.
Those who are prepared have been prepped for at least 10 years. I have plenty of ammo and plenty of guns. My Dad passed away in 2012 and left me a Hi-Point piece-of-shit 9mm semi-auto. I sold it, but kept all his 9mm rounds. Point is, I might buy a 9mm revolver just because I have so many rounds for it, but I certainly don't need it - so no rush.
I also would like a tactical, bullet-resistant vest. There are some good ones on eBay for under $300. We'll see. I don't live in a city and everywhere I go it's Trump signs, so that would mostly be a "fun" purchase.
Like another poster said above, if it comes to that then there will be gear all over the streets.
And I totally agree about the lack of training from first-time gun buyers/users! I grew up with guns. Had a BB gun until I was about 8 years old. Then I got my first .22 pump rifle. When I was 14 I got my first 30-30 lever action rifle for deer hunting. Then a .243, then a 30.06. Etc.
And to this day, with rifle and pistol safety engrained in my memory, I still make a conscious effort to respect gun safety. Know when your gun is loaded. Know where to point your gun, loaded or not, know how to use the safety, etc.
A perfect example of the lack of training is the Fuck You Coalition, or whatever it's called, who have shot at least two of their own members so far this year.
