During the very scary Bush/Cheney years, nobody would have ever dared engage in the type of sustained and destructive protests/rioting that we've seen recently. Bush and Cheney would have shot your ass, and they wouldn't care if it was during a Pandemic, or that a cop killed a black guy accidentally on camera.

You would have essentially seen a massacre in order to restore order.

I mentioned Trinity, because you can ask him for frame of reference just how scary the Bush/Cheney climate was.

Paul Wellstone opposed the two of them, and they blew him and his whole family out of the sky. They had a very Russian/Putinist way of doing things, and no words were even necessary to know that they'd kill you.
