Quoting: Lance Roseman From BC QUOTE "Staff at Common bar said police told them the huge slices were not 'substantial' The gigantic slices of pizza are cut from 22'' slices and measure 11'' in length The bar in Manchester said officers were 'winging it' as there was 'no proper guidance' and that they could not answer what constituted a 'substantial' meal Police have since backed down and the bar is allowed to serve slices individually Bosses at a Manchester bar say police told them to stop serving slices of 22-inch pizza as they don't class as a 'substantial meal' under the new Tier 3 lockdown rules before the force backed down. Staff at Common in the city's trendy Northern Quarter claim officers visited the Edge Street bar on Friday afternoon (October 23) during a patrol, checking if venues were following the new restrictions. END QUOTE [link to www.scoopyweb.com] This is retarded but people are buying into the idiocy. Epic face palm moment, OP. I mean specifically this entire non-issue pizza thing. That twenty two inch pizza... now that sounds like a delicious pizza to try out as so long as I can get it as an all meat's pizza with double pepperoni and double bacon. I looked at the page, and wow! That cheese pizza looks good. Two slices is good enough for me! As for government telling their citizens, "you have had enough food" or something similar... that is very dangerously crossing the line into The Island (2005) insanity. Food and drinks are one of the core freedoms anyone has left on Earth. If the government can tell you what you can eat and/or what you can drink, when, where, and/or what have you that is it you are a slave in every way possible except for the physical chains. You lost. You're not ahead so you have lost the opportunity to quit while you are ahead, but you can at least stop the road rash. okay there mexican go scrape up some more roadkill for your next meal for your fourteen kids You did not even bother to defend yourself against being called a Communist, mr jenzie. You went for an ad hominem instead against that AC. Huh... I guess that AC was accurate about you after all. IMO It's a slice that is cut off a 30 inch pizza... and that pizza is divided into six slices. Used to be that way here... now they cut the pizza into eight slices instead and not sure if it's a real 30 inch pizza as they won't let you measure lol. You do notice over time the years how things got skint on portions... and like how they sauce and cheese will sometimes creep just a little to far away from the edge of the pizza leaving you with to much semi burnt crust at the end. . Anyway they never can cut the slices perfect... so to make up for it, if I am gonna spend big bucks on pizzeria pizza... I try to make sure they grab the exact slice I tell em... always get that look if they realize I picked the one that makes the other slices look like runts. But hell it's my hard earned money and that is that. Good thing with these kinda places the pizzas are right there up front and they box it right in front of you. If place does not do that... you might want to be more subtle in your demands. I box it up right there no taking the slice to the back kitchen to "heat" up a little more. Thats playing it smart. Restaurants should be fair and upfront with what they offer and so forth. Like a double burger for example... one place I know it's consistent and they can't mess with it... made right there and two standard 1/4 pound patties are used. But order the chicken parmesan sandwich where they go off further to the side to make it... and you don't know if your gonna get a good sandwich with good breaded chicken breast or if your gonna get sauce cheese and two tiny chicken nugget morsels of meat. And hells bells if you point shit like that out to the cashier/cook. ehhhwww... damn it's just better and cheaper to put in the effort to make your own food. Take that 7-8 bucks you pay for a double burger and buy the ingredients to make half a dozen or more yourself. Peace... rant over Haha... |
