The only thing that seems questionable about the Hunter laptop is why they would take it to a random computer repair shop instead of having tech come to them and why would they let either live. I am paranoid about Banking information falling in to the wrong hands.Even after a disc has been fragmented.

And i would not trust a repair Shop either,Only for the fact tat where i live they look dodgy as fuck.

Ball peen hammer, hammer the fuck out of the shiny metal disk inside of hardrive mechanism, then burn the RAM chips. They might get bits and pieces but nothing usable.

Its not about the price of parts, its about knowing how to install them properly and then install an OS and then transfer all the shit from your old HDD you don't ever want to lose. 9/10 people can't fucking do that...so you're completely wrong.

There are many very good reasons for not trusting private data to anyone else. They can get a lot of information off of a discarded hard drive even if it crashed. Including credit card numbers and bank account numbers, as well as social security and any other private data
