Carbs

Cut the Carbs.

60-100grams of carbs max a day.

Weight will fall off.

Also, no sugar.

Now he's 211 pounds today. I made delicious soup and he ate it, plus 2 bagels with pate and another pint of kefir and a hamburger patty.

Re: My husband is starting to get fat
Sounds like he is familiar with the treadmill. I recommend a daily cardio exercise regimen. Whatever he can do on there. The weight training is good too. Also he can still eat his crap, but just needs to eat less of it and exert some self control. Smaller portions.

You gotta let him bend you over atleast twice a day.. 10 mins of fucking is like running for 2hrs..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76195662

It takes him 3-4 days to recover after a workout so it's not going to happen.
 Quoting: chasity

wtf

There's your problem. That is not normal at all!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75523624

Sure, it can be very normal ... depending on age. Once you get to 50, it takes a lot more than 1 day off for muscle recovery.

Re: My husband is starting to get fat
There’s no magic to losing weight. You can calculate a given person’s BMR and actual calorie usage. The studies show you can cut that by 25% and not lose muscle ... so long as protein intake remains high. There was a professor who ate a diet of Twinkies (and some vitamins) and he lost weight. It’s all about calories in vs. calories burned.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79035915

That's how we roll and he knows this but he can't stop over eating. He doesn't binge, he just eats a fuckton of high calorie dense foods like bagels and cheese, chocolate cream spread, pate. I have a bunch of prepped grilled chicken and lots of other low calorie dense foods but he chooses that other crap instead.
 Quoting: chasity

So, I started at around 237 and am down to 221 in 2 months, from 26% body fat down to 19%. My muscle mass has remained constant.

I calculated that I need around 2300 calories per day (BMR is around 2100). So I cut that down to 1700 per day. I continue to work out and try to get at least 75-100 grams of protein per day.

I've tried all kinds of fad diets before, like Intermittent Fasting, etc. ... which has great benefits, except if you don't cut calories you really won't lose that much weight. I've tried Atkins, and it works for a while but then stalls out, as the calories increase and the body adjusts. Then you crave carbs and fall off the wagon.

There's just no substitute for cutting the calories. Cut them by no more than 25% below daily usage because the metabolism slows down and the body can start losing muscle.

So, at the end of the day, he's got to want it.

When you're on a calorie ration, you start making better decisions too. I get 1700 per day, so I look at a can of pop or some candy bar or suites, and think, "hell, no, I'm not going to waste that many calories on this shit."

It's also good to allow yourself a cheat day once per week. Psychologically, it helps to know that you don't have to do it forever, "I just have to make it til Sunday, you think. I can do it for two more days." But if there's no cheat day, the thought of doing that forever can be daunting. It's easier to do it in 6-day stretches rather than forever.

Hes probably tired of having sex with you and bored with life. He has nothing left so he doesn't care if he gets fat.

Try spicing things up and wearing some sexy lingerie and enticing him. That is if you're not overweight yourself. If you are lose weight and then do what I said and he will lose weight.

I still respect my husband's fat ass. I give him till 215 pounds to start fasting. He can't fit into his clothes anymore, he just bought some medium pj pants and I had to return them. He's in total denial about his size.

I don't believe that. Once I started consuming between 150-200 grams of carbs a day my metabolism soared through the roof and I've been cutting on a high carb low fat diet.

It sounds like he's having hormone issues. It could be because of underlying issues with adrenal glands or testicals. He should get them checked in case it's something more serious like cancer.

We are in our late 40's and doing Mike Mentzer training to failure. It takes 3-4 days to recover usually by day 3 we are onto our next muscle group. Yesterday I told him lets do it light but we still did it to failure and I'll know tomorrow how bad I feel. Right now it's just basic soreness, nothing uncomfortable or requiring a naproxon. I'll still do cardio today but he won't. He wants to do legs today, I did legs, shoulders and traps yesterday, he just did traps and shoulders. The worst part is the hunger on the days off, he eats the same everyday no matter what, I usually eat lighter on the days off.

I don't have any issues with it but like I said I only drink it occasionally and I was never a soda pop drinker in my whole life so that could be why I can tolerate it. It will drop my blood sugar if I drink it when I'm hungry, that's the only bad thing I ever got from it but I just stuffed my pie hole with a bunch of bread and felt better lol.
