I have researched this crap into the ground trying to find the "optimal diet". The only thing that even remotely makes sense is that humans are omnivores/scavengers/opportunists. If it's winter time and there are no vegetables, we eat meat. In nature, something has to die so something else can survive, whether it's an antelope or potato.
