I was a big doubter... but then my younger 35 yr old brother got it and it gave him a stroke. Healthy athletic policeman. If it can take him down it could get anybody. For some reason stroke is a common thing with 30s-40s group. I think it is the overreaction of the immune system that causes clots.

2017-2018 was a bad year, in regards to the flu. I posted a story, on a different thread, about how hospitals no longer had hospital beds available and how they were setting up tents to treat influenza patients (sounds like articles we keep reading about Covid) . If we look at the numbers, from that season, you can see how many people can get sick from the flu so it’s ridiculous to think that we suddenly have almost no influenza cases.

Well they're not even testing people for flu. Around here, if you have symptoms, they test you for the China virus and that's it.

Wifey and I both went to doctor today. Flu shots were just one of the reason we went.

this years flu season hasn't quite kicked in yet according to the historical data. Gotta wait till the first 9 - 10 weeks of the new year to really see it in full swing.

What I do find interesting from the data on that map, that flu infection rates have gotten worse and worse with 19- 20 being the worst around week 8 and 9 with the most purple on the map. Notice they don't even add the super dark red and purple till 2019 -20 season

I agree with it being real, my wife is a physician and treats it on the daily and is starting to see the beds fill up with cases. Mostly moderate cases. She also said the we don't know the long term affects of this virus. She said she has seen patients, that end up with chronic long term lung issues, blood clot issues, and a few others I cant remember. That's really what makes this different. from the flu virus. Death rate is still .02 by the google numbers world wide. Lockdowns don't make sense, if you look at the google data you will see that during the lockdowns we had the most deaths, probably because it was the start of it and we didn't have any clue on how to treat it. Now as cases begin to rise the death rate is still steady. With a sudden increase in cases a couple of weeks ago we should start to see a rise in the daily death rate. If we don't, we know that treatments are working and that its not as deadly for most as they made it out to be.

Meanwhile, anyone who has to breathe in their own Co2 all day is ready to kill someone.

Wife works at a large known hospital in Atlanta. They're not testing for flu. They're prioritizing covid tests over flu. Flu symptoms? You're getting a covid test instead. They'll run that test a few times and maybe it won't say positive or negative who knows.

If you do a simple online search for "long term effects of flu", there are plenty of stories from several years ago (pre-covid) that warn of similar lung, brain, and organ damage from regular old flus.

I admit I didn't research deeply enough to see how similar those are to current reports of long term covid damage, but it seems suspicious that suddenly people are freaking out about long term damage which may or may not be a new thing for flu in general.

Any medical professionals here to help us compare?
