My wife tesches at an all black school, she teaches special ed, and the kids come to school dirty, with torn clothes and call her a bitch and honkey and kick and bite her, she still goes to wal mart on her lunch break and buys them clean clothes and belts, on our dime.

She puts up with abuse and still loves her kids, the kids come to school starving because they haven't eaten in 18 hours, and each week she identifies a star student and we, on our dime, fill up a backpack that we bought full of food and snacks for that kid to take home so they won't be hungry.

There are days she comes home in tears trying to help and we pray and I lift her up.

The horror stories about these families I won't go into but she loves her kids and I tell her she may be the only positive influence they see and to keep it up.

My wife's kids come to school smelling like weed, dirty, without a bath and unfed.

When she puts them in their cars to go home usually the parents are smoking weed in the car when she puts them in.

Then they come back to school the next day starving and we buy more food.
