In the world we are in, including other 5 realms above and below us, you do good things, you get good karma; you do bad things, you get bad karma.

For example, If you help others financially, you will be more wealthy when the good karma matures.

If you saved some lives, you will live longer or and healthier when the good karmas are due.



The problem with this rule is that you will never be able to get out of the loop of reincarnation, because every action you take has a karma waiting for you to be fulfilled in the future. Bad action gives you bad karma, good action gives you good karma. Good karma can not be neutralized with bad karma.

I know you are angry about karma and reincarnation. We are trapped. But it is what it is.


Luckily Buddhism offers us a solution!

If you are accepted into some Buddhism system, the rules are rewritten for you: good karma turns into merit. Merit is kind of like universal money you can use in 6 realms. For example, Merits can be used to pay off your karma debts/ bad karma. You also can use merit to “buy” some you want in this life. The unused merits can be carried to you next life. If you don’t have enough merits to get out of reincarnation in this life, the unused merits will earn you a better next life. For example you may be born in better county or family have a successful finance career so on...
