If you are speaking within the Gnostic context, I suppose what you are refering to is the Demiurge, and in this case I don't think "unaware" is the adequate term but rather "unconcerned".
However you forget Jesus Christ has come to earth, amongst mankind - as the "Son of Man" - for a reason.
Focusing on a Demiurge might have made sense at the time of the Gnostics but not anymore perhaps.

They had knowledge that was extremely dangerous for the current rulers of this fallen world. The beast (rome) went out to eliminate them as they were seen as a rival since their influence at the time was starting to grow. I believe one of the ways to escape this frequency of earth is to elevate your own by being "good" and in tune with source. The higher your raise your vibrations, the harder it is for the orion empire group to control you. This is a good point. I believe higher vibration is the key to escaping the matrix. In fact I can go so far to say that death is merely a disease. When the people living in Garden of Eden existed, I don’t think death was an issue. That’s why once man was banished, they began to die. Perhaps the garden of eden contains a permanent connection to source so people are continually regenerated and never age? In fact, the garden of eden may not be a physical place; it might be located in another realm/dimension. That’s why the elite try so hard to lower our vibration so we lose the creative life force. If we can sustain this connection to the source, I think we can become immortal.
