The way I see it is one would be on their best behavior if they were being entertained by their favorite musical legend, A king of some country who could throw you in jail, a boss who could fire you, your spouse, etc. Doing the right thing makes sense because of "natural law".... It can't be explained because it is common sense that everyone agrees on.

Another example of natural law: We don't attack people and send them to the hospital with injuries when we are mad at them as way to vent our anger OR we don't steal peoples homes and cars because we like them and feel like it.

Holy living is simply common sense and really does not have anything to do with being a "religatard". If this realm is run by "evil agent smiths", then still, even evil doesn't backstab itself (it would cease to exist).

If you are going to die, it makes sense to die with a legacy of doing the right thing and doing your best to right your wrongs and make some type of difference for good; when people mock you for it, it's because they are forced to look at themselves in light of your reflection perhaps. Maybe they are the agent smiths?
