I bought the Gateway Experience in 1995, in cassette form. I was in Australia and the running joke with my staunch Christian manager was that it is the work of the devil as the $USD500 price exchanged to $AUD666. I digress however.

I listened to them and by tape 6 I got the violent vibrations and started to sink downwards! Naturally I associated down with you know where and I haven't touched them since, except sometimes when coming home drunk. Hehe!

I think his book Ultimate Journey came out shortly after I bought them and then he died.

So, I'm wondering, do I have the pure Gateway Experience before any agency got a chance to subvert it? Back in 1995 things were different, without internet even and so less exposure to new information as readily as now. How can I convert to them to FLAC or MP3 and "lend" you the tapes?

It would also be worthwhile to compare your latest CD version of Gateway with my 1995 version.

Interesting that you say that. I was up late last night scouring the Internet for old Wave cassette tapes because I had the same idea.

Years ago, a guy on Amazon wrote a review claiming he has the old cassettes from the 1980’s specifically designed for OOB (astral travel), and he claims the CDs aren’t the same. Not having worked through them yet, I’m on the fence about his claim. There are many others including yourself that assert they did indeed experience astral separation from the physical body, yet the current Monroe Institute site does NOT focus on that, and even claims astral projection shouldn’t be expected (they claim the materials help with personal development). That doesn’t make sense considering Bob Monroe specifically developed the Hemi-Sync technology for astral travel because that is the key for the level of consciousness awareness that opens the path to personal development. That’s also why it’s called The GATEWAY Experience. The whole point of the program is to train people to astral travel.

As an aside, feeling oneself “sliding down” is one of several forms of astral separation from the physical body. It’s experienced in different ways. I personally recently experienced it as sliding straight out of the top of my head. So NO, by “sliding down”, your astral body is NOT “going to Hell”! I suggest you read the Trilogy of books, “Journeys Out of the Body”, “Far Journeys”, and “Ultimate Journey”. In my mind, that is absolutely requisite to taking The Gateway Experience, or the person is just “flying blind” (pun intended), and not understanding what they’re doing or what to do. Just bear in mind that the third book seems to have excerpts from Bob Monroe’s work, but strikes me as written by someone else (as the OP of this thread also asserts).

Bear in mind, the CIA/DOD were actual participants in TMI gateway experience in the late 1970’s through the early 1980’s. I was under the belief that they merely co-opted Monroe’s technology and discoveries and furthered that work internally under their own massively financed umbrella.

However, this thread’s OP clearly states the CIA completely took over the entire Monroe Institute. As to when that happened, it’s not known, and likely will never be known (assuming it actually happened).

Your question and mine is:

Do the old Wave cassette tapes from the 1990’s (and CDs from the 2000’s) contain the same instructions AND sound tones from the original works of Bob Monroe?

I found that the publication date of my CDs is 2005. It is entirely possible that the text AND sound tones used by Bob Monroe in the 70’s and 80’s are NOT used on those CD’s, and the only way to know would be for someone with old 1980’s cassettes to plug into a sound wave oscilloscope and directly compare the frequencies, amplitude, and wavelengths of the aural sounds used.

I read Monroe's 1st 2 books and others by Sylvan Muldoon, A. E. Powell and Robert Crookall before I used the tapes.

So you're saying by 1995 the hemi-sync process became infiltrated? That's entirely possible.

Just looking at the cassettes, they say P encircled 1981, meaning sound recorded copyright 1981. Could they be "clean enough" for our purposes?
