Maybe this did start out as a game, but it's been perverted by something into a loosh farm. Now it's up to us to seek the truth and escape, but if we can't escape after death we need to empower ourselves so we can help free others from the death trap. As Rorschach in says Watchmen "I'm not locked in here with you.. you're locked in here with me". They feed on our suffering we have the power to make them suffer too.  I like the idea of it being an experiment. Gnostics spoke of Aeonic level beings that exist in the pleormas of galaxies (galactic cores) who seed experiments and oversee the results. I think people can be pretty heavy into victim-hood around stuff like this, failing to transcend the game of duality thus getting stuck in a ''drama triangle'' as opposed to taking responsibility. Who are the manipulated, who are the manipulators? Many layers to an onion. It's all a test, initiation, experiment, game as you said....
