The IWA grenades are classified as pyrotechnics and are governed by the same restrictions that apply to fireworks.

There are currently three models available from IWA – the M11 multi-burst, the M12 Distraction Device, and the M13 Thermobaric Canister. The M11 gives off a single loud bang followed by two smaller bangs. The M12 is a single charge, and the M13 Thermobaric produces a single loud bang and a “mild overpressure” as described by the folks at IWA.

The IWA grenades are rated for 125 decibels. The other major difference is time delay. Tactical-grade flashbangs usually have a 1.5-second delay, while the IWA versions are currently advertised at 2.5 seconds. They tell us they are working on an improved fuse that will bring the delay down to 2 seconds or less.

bear spray still requires a hand to hold and aim it,
risking personal injury and you could be dragged out
of your car.

but these are throw and wait. you just roll down your
car window a couple of inches and toss them out.

Currently Sold Out on their Website :(

LOL

Look up "Distraction device" on eBay and it's a bunch of dog frisbees - would that work for crowd control? Antifa might go after them??

Thanks for the info though! I'll keep an eye out for some.

Re: Flash Bangs For Civilians
I am an instructor for NFDD's (Noise Flash Diversionary Devices aka flashbangs)and want to share some things to consider if you purchase these.

***I do not recommend anyone purchase and use these if you have not had the proper training, they are not harmless, they have caused severe injury and death due to improper handling, storage and usage***

1: ALWAYS wear nomex gloves and eye protection when using these. It made me cringe seeing the guy in the video handling the device in the manner he did, with no PPE as well as the way he held it and pulled the pin.

2: ABSOLUTELY do not hold it the way the gentleman in the video did. The spoon should be in the web of your hand and held firmly, but not with a death grip.

3: Once the pin is pulled, deploy it in a safe area immediately! The longer you hold it, the greater the chance of the spoon being milked and the fuze being ignited accidentally. These devices will, without a doubt, blow your entire hand off at the wrist. I've seen it. I have the video of it happening in my training material.

4: They will cause fires, look at the scorch marks left in the video. We always carried fire extinguishers and used them a few times on operations because Murphy would always rear his ugly head. Curtains would catch fire, upholstery, etc.

5: They blow debris everywhere.

6: They should be stored in an explosives magazine. Leaving them in go bags, plate carriers or laying loose leaves the pin exposed to snagging on something and getting pulled inadvertently, which will lead to a very bad day.

There are many other things to consider, but those are the major considerations.

As with anything, educate yourself as much as possible, seek out reputable training and exercise safety. Do not take these devices lightly.

Or just use a firework motar round. Comes in many colors, or a skyburst (flashbang).
