Democrats are being criticized after changing their stance on witnesses in the Trump impeachment trial.

"This is a retreat. A white flag. Abuse of office, " Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, tweeted; while the representative of the Republican party bill wrote: "It's a mess!”

Democratic impeachment managers have been criticized from both sides of the political spectrum for changing course on calling witnesses during the impeachment trial of Donald Trump.

"We could have had 500 witnesses and that would not have helped overcome the arguments that Mitch McConnell and other Republicans have made that the trial of the former president is somehow unconstitutional," said the impeachment manager, Rep. Ruskin.

"They just closed the door for any other witnesses who might have come out. Just when we thought the Democratic Party would show courage and strategy. It shows their political limp," Green added.

"Even if you are convinced that no amount of testimony will change the minds of 40 Republicans - and I think it's a fair assumption - leaving witnesses out of the process is an incredible mistake," he tweeted. Matt Fuller of the Huff Post . "After the impeachment managers presented a fantastic case, the decision to withdraw is something that will be remembered forever."

Actor Rob Schneider has denounced extreme COVID-19 safety protocols in schools as a taxpayer-funded " form of child abuse."

On Twitter on Saturday, the actor shared a video from an elementary school classroom showing rows of desks surrounded by plexiglass.

"This is bad: Forest Brook Elementary school teacher Teresa Holmes recorded a video from her classroom, in which 28 desks are now equipped with Plexiglass shields, " he said on his Twitter account.

"We are witnessing a new kind of child abuse: bought and paid for with YOUR tax dollars," Schneider replied. "The collapse of public schools that follow this example will surely follow. History will not look back on this."
