Call the impound yard and see how many suicide cars they are getting per week.
I bet that number is much greater.
People often do kill themselves in their vehicles, somewhere nice, surrounded by nature, make no mess.. Be no burden to others.

Would be interesting to hear reports on THIS by STATE.

I'm sure there would be a BIG difference between a report
say, in El Paso, Texas...versus say...Seattle, Washington.

I'm noticing also that even though in the earlier days--3/2020
--of the pandemic, the media were reporting the stomach-turning
reports of mass burials and cremations of bodies in China
...such reports are totally avoided in this country. So are
all those people who are passing in Texas, for example, having
funerals--or how are they dealing with this? (Do I even
WANT to know?)

I think it would just be whoever answers the phone. Ask the question and ask to speak to someone 'in the field'...ie in the room draining blood.

Don't forget to put a piece of card printed with the word 'Scoop' on it so it sticks out of the band round your hat.

Well, it would be easier to just call really! Tell them you are doing a story, maybe they would prefer to meet you in person, but doubt it with the fear going around. But yes, we all need fancy hats.

That would work as well...sure add the morgue to the list but in Vancouver it would be full of dead junkies so not that helpfull.

Anonymous ex undertaker stated that they often used to get calls asking about this and due to there only being one incinerator big enough in a large county area, most likely they would dig a big pit and bury them there. Relatives concerns would not be an issue in an emergency.

People, eapecially in business or at places of work, are weary of journalists at the best of times, let alone in current climate.

Getting through the receptionist by citing you're a journalist is a surefire way of getting a "he's busy right now, but let me take your details" response.


No, best to go there direct. Find an unused gurney out back, lie down and cover yourself with a sheet (with cardboard sign on top stating 'new arrival').

When an assistant notices, he'll wheel you in quickly to avoid any bad optics. Just wait till the mortician inside pulls back the sheet, at which point just sit up and start firing away with your questions...
