Nope. After several attempts at captcha, I got as far as them sending a text message, but I never received it.

They have been getting mass influxes of people.

It is causing a system overload.

Alright, I registered. Took about a minute.

However, my account has my email address listed as my Display Name. I don't want to use my email address as my Display Name.

I've gone to "Edit Profile," and it will not allow me to change my Display Name. Anybody else having this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

I signed up months ago, have not signed in recently tough.

Go to your profile and click on the settings button, you can change your name there. and hit save

That is the procedure I have been attempting to use, and it's not working for me.

I think I'll just delete the account, and try registering again.

I did a year ago.

I got to the point where they texted me a 6 digit code then nothing! I put the number in and nothing, so I invested about 15 minutes in trying to sign up and admittedly lost patience and gave up.

I have tried with four different emails and they all come back saying they have sent an SMS. Problem is I don't have an active cellphone so I tried one where it said enter email. I did but would not go to the next screen until I entered a phone number. I actually got a response and they said they were looking into it. I suggested that since their emails seemed to be getting through no problem could they not send me my code by email. That was over a week ago and no further word from them.

Very poor I think.

You might want to try disabling ad blocking in your browser and/or extensions too - especially if you use Firefox.

For those of you having trouble with the captcha thing:

DON'T use capitals AND lowercase.
Just use ALL lowercase. Their system reads in lowercase even though they have capitals in there.

I had signed up on the computer originally & every time I went to their site I had to login & they sent me a code like that & sometimes there were no boxes to put the code.

So I finally signed up on the phone & I am logged in all the time so no more captchas & no more sms numbers.

Why does EVERYBODY need a cell phone number. I don't have one, and would like to have them send an email confirmation instead. In my opinion youe cell # is in lieu of the chip.

Agreed, giving them your phone number seems like a bad idea.

I signed up 6th no problem. People are leaving Twatter en masse, keep trying. I like it better than the commies one for sure!
