Longtime Tulsa emergency dispatcher dies from COVID-19 complications

A long-time Tulsa police and fire dispatcher died Tuesday from complications with COVID-19.

Joey Phillips served the city as a dispatcher for 23 years before his battle with the coronavirus.

Kendall says Phillips was on Remdesivir and was given convalescent plasma immediately and had been improving each day, until Tuesday when his condition worsened.

Doctors put Phillips on a ventilator and he had a heart attack within hours.

Governor Stitt says they aren't worried about enforcing the 6ft. separation of tables in restaurants because he knows everyone will do the right thing and do what they should.
He says they CAN pull licenses if necessary, but he doesn't think it will be a problem.

Attorney Nathan Milner captured the photo while waiting with other attorneys and defendants to see the judge. He said it was alarming.

“You are shoulder to shoulder walking into people as you go through just to get to the courtroom that you’re supposed to be in. So that was the first sign that something was wrong,” said Milner,
“The sheer number of lawyers that were there and were standing in line was overwhelming because we are back to back to back all the way out to the door,” Milner said.

One elected official said it was disturbing.

Two bartenders at a downtown Tulsa bar said they make most of their money after 11 p.m. and are now worried about how they’ll pay their bills.

Starting Thursday, all bars across the state will have to close at 11 p.m.

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office is getting concerned about its numbers.

Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado said they’re already operating at a minimum and they're getting spread even thinner as COVID-19 cases rise.

“We are in crisis mode here at the sheriff’s office," Regalado said.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt tweeted a picture of him meeting with Vice President Mike Pence on Nov. 18th.

In the tweet, Gov. Stitt said they spoke about possible COVID-19 vaccines and their plan to distribute the vaccines to Oklahoma teachers, health care workers and those most vulnerable as soon as possible.

In a second tweet, Stitt explained how Pence and himself spoke about "protecting the health and lives of Oklahomans while keeping businesses open safely and getting our kids back in school as soon as possible."

Some friends of ours live in the area. Both of their fathers passed away this past weekend. All of them has COVID.
