I-894 shut down after shots fired An alert by police went out directing residents to shelter in place while they search for possibly armed suspects tied to the incident on the interstate. WEST ALLIS, Wis. - The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office reported a full freeway closure on southbound I-894 from Oklahoma Avenue due to a shots fired investigation on Friday night, Nov. 20. Traffic reopened around 10:45 p.m. Authorities told FOX6 News around 11:20 p.m. that two suspects were taken into custody and at least one other is believed to still be in the area. An alert by police in the area went out directing the closure, requesting that residents shelter in place while they searched for the possibly armed suspects tied to the incident on the interstate.
