Theres two primary emotions in the universe, Love and Fear. One activates your dormant "junk" DNA for ascension and the other keeps you stuck where you are.

To whoever watching... I want to love myself, but I am too shameful for not loving others, so how could I love myself?

Of course I love myself, because loving yourself is loving everyone else too since we are all the same soul just split up into individual soul fragments placed into other bodies to experience the illusion of separation in this 3d reality.

Loving myself takes just a few pleasant thoughts, loving others requires getting off my ass and facing this scary world in order to feed the needs of the ones closest to me who I want to successfully pretend that I love them.

to me, Love is love
it is a feeling/emotion in the heart/brain
it is to like someone who love you, want to be with him/her, Grieve his/her absence and try to benefit him and to protect him from harm

but there are two types of love
"emotion only" love that one love to his family, his friends, his pets, and his people
and the both sexual/physical and romantic/emotional love that one love to his woman

Love (to me) is about respecting the other person. Respect who they are as a person, respect their boundaries, respect that sometimes they will need you, respect where they came from, their feelings, that sometimes they won’t be at their best, etc.

Being “in love” is extreme admiration or lust. Infatuation. It does not last.

No, the connection is not constant. It waxes and wanes. This is why marriage vows say for better or worse. Some days I can’t imagine what I ever did without my spouse, then some days ... well I keep those thoughts to myself.

What does love feel like? Love isn’t a state of being for me. Sometimes love is getting off my ass and running to the store to buy him beer when I clearly don’t want to, rubbing his back until he falls asleep. Massaging his painful broken fingers, cleaning up messes he made, listening to him talk about his interests, watching a movie he wants to watch ... sacrifices, which I’m happy to make because he makes them for me.

This whole topic is making me think of the Five Love Languages. Have you read that book, OP? Clearly I’m an Acts-Of-Service girl.

Taking care of your own, and doing what is necessary. The act of giving never ends. The act of providing for others, usually never ends.

Only in a sense of danger, crisis, loss, or conflict, do these emotions manifest in hurtful and significant ways - and makes things black and white very quickly.

Love, beyond the state of the 1-2 year euphoria, is daily normal operation. You know your life is good, your spouse and kids are good, everything is operating normally, and you can do what YOU need to do to expand upon your family's well being. Your home life is grounded in it's well being, so you can go out to make it better without worry. The intimacy you have with your partner, is your own.

As a male, it's been mentioned "how well do you care for your family"? You can see this in the day to day. What does he wear, what does he drive, when compared to his spouse and children and how they live?

A man, takes care of his own. EVERYONE, is provided for. No one lacks.

That is LOVE.
