User ID: 78551328 United States 11/21/2020 02:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This 2003 History Channel documentary only aired several times before it was shut down by a lawsuit from the family of former president LBJ. Part 3, The Guilty Men lays out the case that Johnson and several high powered associates were the key players who set the assassination into motion. No wonder the Johnson estate wanted this documentary banned! A must see. It even gets into how LBJ engaged in massive voter fraud to win his first Senate seat. He went on from there to rule the Senate as Majority Leader before forcing his way onto the 1960 presidential ticket with JFK. Johnson's former business partner, Billy Sol Estes, testified to a grand jury that he ordered the murders of a group of people, including his own sister, Josepha and President John F. Kennedy. Another great one is this 1940 John Ford film, The Long Voyage Home. Orson Welles had the entire cast and crew of Citizen Kane watch it before shooting on Kane began. He hired the same cinematographer, the great Greg Toland, to do the camerawork. Eugene O'Neil, who wrote several of the plays the film is based on, loved the film so much that he wore out a copy that was sent to him by director John Ford. One of my merchant marine dad's favorite movies, and one of mine also. A young John Wayne along with Thomas Mitchell, Ward Bond, John Qualen, Barry Fitzgerald and other great actors. Very sad ending and a very great film... Last Edited by Deplorable Curly Howard on 11/21/2020 02:32 PM "Some people would rather curse the darkness than light a can do." Method Man |

And I was just reading about how LBJ stole that election to become a Senator for Texas.... Thank you so much for posting this! As for The Long Voyage Home, I just might watch this tonight when the sun goes down. John Ford? That guy was a genius, I've loved everything he ever did but I've never seen this film. The Orson Welles & Eugene O'Neil connections? Heck yeah! Plus, my main man (a young) John Wayne? Wow, you've got me hooked. Thank you so much! Very much appreciated, Deplorable Curly! ~Wharf Rat |

The plot follows a pair of American criminal brothers (Clooney and Tarantino) who take as hostages a family (Keitel and Lewis) in order to cross into Mexico, but ultimately find themselves trapped in a saloon frequented by vampires. The romance and happy ending are courtesy of Hollywood, but the rest of the story is straight out of the history books and provides a terrific portrait of Ireland's "Lost Leader". One of the very few portraits of Collins on film, a great flick. |

This is one of my favorites: Living in Oblivion is a 1995 American independent dark comedy film, written and directed by Tom DiCillo, and starring Steve Buscemi, Catherine Keener, Dermot Mulroney, Danielle von Zerneck, James LeGros and Peter Dinklage in his film debut. The film won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival for DiCillo. The film received critical acclaim. Oh the myriad of fuckery that could follow, or the lead in to the rise of Humanity.... I liked the second one I posted better, though.... You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
