I guess the real fact here is, the US issued an amphetamine, which is NOT meth. In fact, our doctors today are handing out Adderall like it's candy to our kids. For ADD/ADHD it really does work. For a college student, who does not "need" this stuff, they will pay a handsome price to get their hands on some around exam time.

The Germans had so much of their industry destroyed, they lost the ability to make quality, pharmaceutical grade drugs. Therefore, they ended up with something very similar to what we'd call meth. And meth is obviously some really fucked up shit.

But on the Russian Front, the Germans really needed something to give them an EXTRA kick. This is where their meth use really skyrocketed. It's not they they wanted to be high on a drug like that, they simply needed something, because a soldier high on drugs is not a good soldier.

However, there is some question in history about the SS using meth, just because they were already some crazy, fucked up dudes. Were concentration camp guards high on meth, just because they liked it? I don't know, the available info is very iffy at best. But we do know for certain the SS were into some very dark shit, like Black Magic, and Rituals, and just weird shit.

What many people who do not understand WWII think is; that ALL German soldiers were Nazis. And that is far from true. German soldiers were just like any other soldier, fighting for their nation, to survive, and probably drafted into service. They were also pissed about the outcome of WWI, and they were pissed at a certain group within their country who has been kicked out of over 100 nations over the past 2000 years. Plenty of evidence to prove this "tribe" of people are far from innocent. But that is another story (This post will probably get deleted now, and I'll get an Abusive Post hit...oh well, I didn't say anything untrue).

As for the REAL NAZIS, they were without a doubt seriously twisted people who were evil to their rotten core. Most Nazis were SS, but they existed in many units. The German Secret Police (Gestapo) were mostly Nazis. Bad dudes. I'd be really concerned if I had to go up against those assholes in battle...they might be loaded up on meth!

As for me...if I had to go into extended combat, I'd have no problem taking Adderall to stay alert. It's really just a better form of coffee. But meth (and I've never done meth) I've seen a few people on meth before, and they are FREAKS on that shit. Scary!
