You won’t get your stimulus payment until they’ve finished processing your taxes, so first you need to find out what the status of the processing your tax forms is. Forget about the stimulus until you get that answer.

I heard that the trick is to ignore it when it asks for your ssn#. It will ask you twice if you ignore it you get the option to speak with someone. It worked for me but you will be on hold a long time.

Okay, but it has been over four months. I did try to find out the status, and the reps system went down while we on the phone.

I tried again, entered in the info with the automated person, and because I couldn't enter a tax return payment amount to me or from me to them, end of conversation.

I will try that now....

Get an account transcript from the irs. It will show dates that things have been processed. It also shows if they’ve processed the stimulus payment or not. I think you can request it online.

This did not work.

The thing is I have to have an IRS account, but I don't have any of the active accounts they have me choosing from to go any further.


I can't even get an account with them....


I tried to do it by mail, and it says there is something wrong with my address, that it does not match what they have on file.....and my address is typed in perfectly.


Ahhh well, I just got it to pop up the form. At least I can print that off and get it mailed in....that's another week and a half down the drain.

They've weaponized every other federal agency, Why not the IRS too?

There is one in Las Cruces, over an hour away. I may be traveling there for work in the future, if so perhaps I'll have the time to run in there to see if I can get some answers.

..and use the word 'hardship'.. Tell them you are experiencing 'hardships'.

Use the amount that you originally sent, the one that separated from the forms.

I suppose I can try that....

ACK! The thing is, it's not going to match their records. They said there was no tax return with the 2018npayment I sent in, so that won't be on file.

I did try putting in $1 with the automated person, just to see if I could get someone to talk to, but it said it didn't match their records.

So now I am--

Snail mailing for a transcript of my tax account....which will likely lead me right back to where I am today, unable to find someone able to answer my questions....AND waiting until I can get to Las Cruces and hope I have enough time to talk to someone to a resolutions end.

Maybe Australia got it. The whole thing was not handled very well at all.

And one check for 8 months? What do families with kids do? This whole thing is just so sad.

Don't forget munchin said the $1500 should last you 6 months, while they live like kings.

They don't give a fuck about us and never have.

It took them 8 months to send me my refund this year.

After that fiasco I filed for stimulis through the IRS web site and paid the "free" third party company handling it 29.95 for that priveledge because I was only filing electronically for stimulis through them, not my return.

It was worth going through the third party via IRS site though, IRS rejected it twice and the third party company emailed me the same day so I could log on to their site and fix it.

Total process from start to finish was two weeks, two weeks to get the check cost 29.95 to file through them, was worth it for me.

The company was ezTaxReturn.com , it was accessed through the IRS site as one of the free ways to file electronically but they charged for doing stimulis, outside chance they may take you through the direct link I posted

Make sure and call first to be sure they're open.
And hopefully they can make an appointment for you.

Appointment making like that would be very difficult given my job. I don't even know until late in the afternoon the day before what run I will have the next day.

When I googled where they are in Cruces it did say the office was open. Unfortunately, the phone number there is the same 800-829-1040 number, or I would've called them.

Heh, I'm going to give up on this today. I have things I can do at hand, so I'm just going to do that.

The status of the 2018 taxes would be the one that had the payment that got separated? Try just getting that checked on first. You have an amount to use which would be what you showed as payment to IRS on the original form that got separated, and would be identical payment you showed on the replacement 2018 forms you filed. You should be able to get that status on the automated line.
