Your understanding of 1933 executive order history is a bit lacking. The "confiscation" wasn't actually a confiscation at all. It was a business contract where the gov offered to buy metals at a specified dollar price. The rest of the 1933 EO was the usual fear games they play to get people to comply, just like covid crap today. Executive orders do NOT legally apply to individuals. The threats in 1933 about jail time and fines had no legal enforcement ability in a country with a constitution that prevents deprivation of property without cause (committing a crime, for example). In other words, people gave up their gold voluntarily in 1933 and were paid for it. It was not a confiscation. It was a business deal. Of course the gov later declared the price higher and everyone that sold to gov in 1933 got dicked out of the price difference.

It's rather dumb to compare the lengths that gov would have to go to get people's gold again, compared to the relative ease of just shutting off bitcoin and other cryptos from internet access at the internet backbone.
