The gates have nothing to do with Covid. Those were being implemented before this all started. It's to deter walkouts/theft.

You are doing them a courtesy when you show them your receipt upon leaving. Once you pay for whatever is in your cart/shopping bag, you own it. You can flat out refuse to show them the receipt.
They are maximizing profit by using self-checkout and less cashiers. They have 100s of cameras in every store- they should hire loss prevention agents to help them with any theft. They do not have to treat every customer as if they are stealing.

You can walk right back through the gates. They don't offer any resistance. It will set off alarms though.

Go to the baby formula section of the Wal-Mart and see if they have the plastic guards you have to slide back and forth to get containers off the shelves. There will probably also be a dedicated camera in that isle. If you have those, your local Walmart is dealing with a lot of theft.

I was in Wally World in the Nebraska panhandle a a few days ago, and the only thing different was pallets of stock piled everywhere. After I left, they closed for 2 days to disinfect and stock shelves. There aren't a lot of choices in the panhandle, so the people panicked. The city and Walmart both made statements about why and how long the closure would last. The Wally Worlds in Wyoming didn't do this, so I have no idea what was going on.

You know what's really creepy..the fact that you actually think the guy at the door is pushing a button on an ipad to let you out and you posted it on a forum. They're maintaining in/out counts to know the number of people in the store.

I do not think it is covid. They want people to think it is covid. They did not take all of the guns and ammo out the the stores due to covid.
