From Friday on it'll be 3am bike rides tho.
Only thing I miss is it being open 24 hours.

At mine they check receipts at the door if you go through self check with a full cart.

This pisses people off. I've seen some healthy exchanges

From my understanding it is a theft prevention measure. It's a tough call because I hate being funneled in and out one entrance. On the other hand I dislike shoplifting.

Yeah, totally not digging the funnel in and out thing. So, because there's a bunch of loser pigs that shoplift and steal, so now we have to be corralled like cattle.

I always go in through the exit and leave through the entrance. I take the cart and flip it upside down to make them work. Sometimes I go in and get a. Bunch of dairy frozen stuffs you know fill the cart and leave it in some remote location and walk out sometimes I shop lift just cause even though I got the money

Anyone else find it creepy that they put permanent gates in for COVID19, and now the remodel, so we can't leave at all unless we go through the registers. All the registers are all together now.

They just remodeled our Walmart, and thought it was weird, as it's not that old, and so now they have the gates when you come in, and so you can't go back out unless you go through only one check out area, so creepy.

If you try to go back through the gates an alarm goes off, so what say you GLP, whatever could we need to be choraled in one and not go back out.

Honestly, I felt pretty trapped. There were 20 people in line, which I didn't expect, and didn't really need the stuff, so that's when I realized, you can no longer just walk out of Walmart, one way in, one way out, creepy.
 Quoting: Keilani

Please post pics. I've been to Walmart twice in the past seven years, it's not a store anyone needs to shop at very often; who needs Chinese sh*t?

Anyway a pic would help greatly. No one blocks my exiting a business.

Uh, this is in Florida, Tony Meatball, Tampa Bay area. You must be in a smaller populated county. We have had to wear masks here too since the whole COVID crap, real liberal mayor in St Pete and Tampa too I think, and I think that just spread throughout the two counties. Ugh.

Oh, and usually those forehead scanners tend to run cool. Normal temperature is 98.6, so personally, I find them pretty useless.

Sorry, I'm not there now, but most the Walmart stores in our area put in those one-way gates, so if you get into a bigger city check one out. They used COVID as the excuse, but not buying it.

Walmart is F'd up, I went in yesterday to send Christmas money to my kids, just as I have for every Christmas, Birthday or emergency for the last 7 years. Just so happens I needed to renew my drivers license and in MO they stamp void on your plastic and give you a paper version (with pic) until the state sends a new plastic. So I tell the lady I need to send money, cash in hand, she pulls it all up on the screen, all the info is there and then she says (as always) I need to see your license...then she informs me that I can't send money without the plastic version, no other form of ID will do, not even my passport. I can cash a check and they will give me money without a license, but they won't let me send cash (that's the new sign she showed me) I said are you serious? yep, now I have to find an alternate way to get money to the kids...I was SO ticked off. NOTHING Walmart does any more surprises me, can't wait until I live somewhere that I don't have to go in another one

I had one tell me "they watch everything we do"

They are not supposed to reveal certain things or practices to customers either.

I wanna know what the cattle counter is doing at the front door. he/she has an electronic pad and makes individual entries with each arrival and sometimes departure too.

Wal Mart is creepy. That's why I say I don't feel comfortable and always have my defenses up when there.

If you were sending money via Western Union or Moneygram, they have to follow anti-money laundering regulations. Depending on the amount sent, you must have valid photo Id. Most places ask for it regardless. However, if the passport is not expired, that’s completely valid identification for such a transaction.

Was at my walmart yesterday, they have the gates and all closed checkouts are chained off, they were out of what I wanted so I was just trying to leave I didnt feel like climbing the chain so I just went to the gate and the guy said " sir you cant leave this way, if you try to leave this way you will be asked to leave the store" I said cool and just went through the gate and set off the alarm since the guy said all they would do is ask me to leave and that was my goal, so if not checking out just walk through the gate and they will be happy to make you leave lol

It is definitely to deter shoplifting. At this time of year, shoplifting is high and it's common for thieves to walk out with a full shopping cart of merchandise. That's tough to do walking through a line of shoppers and a cashier/checker, however. With the pandemic, many big box retailers have stopped shoplifting apprehensions to keep their detectives safe from Covid. A pro shoplifter wouldn't think twice about spitting or coughing on you. It sucks and it's inconvenient for the customers, though.

Right, that's exactly what happened to me. I went in to get like two things, saw there were like 20 people in line, and was in no way going to wait that long, so I went to leave, like I normally would.

Well, I could not go out the way I came in. There were gates now that didn't swing that way, so I didn't know how to leave.

So, I was just testing gates to see if I could leave that way, and an alarm went off, so I had to cut through check-out line, telling everyone I'm leaving. Luckily, they were all cool, but what if they weren't?

It's not that it's inconvenient, it's that I don't see an option. They really should still have a lane for you to leave in if you're not buying anything. I honestly don't know how people that are claustrophobic would handle something like that. I'm not claustrophobic and it freaked me out a bit.
