All the registers are all together now. Quoting: Keilani They just remodeled our Walmart, and thought it was weird, as it's not that old, and so now they have the gates when you come in, and so you can't go back out unless you go through only one check out area, so creepy. If you try to go back through the gates an alarm goes off, so what say you GLP, whatever could we need to be choraled in one and not go back out. Honestly, I felt pretty trapped. There were 20 people in line, which I didn't expect, and didn't really need the stuff, so that's when I realized, you can no longer just walk out of Walmart, one way in, one way out, creepy. Gonna need pics havrnt seen this They've had them at our WalMart for about a year. And we're in a small town, about 7k in population. Freaked me the F out when they first installed them. I don't know the purpose, and I figured they'd get around the doing it in all the stores eventually. Still don't know why. My case in point that this is not just for theft, why put in a small town then? |

There are some eloquent "grifters" out there and their methods can sting hard. Unfortunately the retailer doesn't eat it in the long run. The consumers do Irish eyes |

The workers if you know them and they trust you will tell you it's a very hostile environment to work in. I had one tell me "they watch everything we do" They are not supposed to reveal certain things or practices to customers either. I wanna know what the cattle counter is doing at the front door. he/she has an electronic pad and makes individual entries with each arrival and sometimes departure too. Wal Mart is creepy. That's why I say I don't feel comfortable and always have my defenses up when there. The cattle counter at the door is actually counting how many people enter, once again, due to COVID, don't buy it. They are saying if we're at this or that level, then the store can only be at 40% capacity or whatever, but totally not buying that excuse at all. One of the reasons I'm not buying it is I've seen them counting all us cattle, but never, ever stopping people from going in and sometimes it gets crowded, so not buying that excuse. |

The whole thing is ineffective and stupid. The Walmart gate thing being related to Covid is absolutely untrue. Wildpandapig |

No pics need really. I have seen the draconian transformation and some weird gate being set up while driving to one of the PetSmart Stores to get my German Shepard some food... I did not go in but, I saw from the outside that they have something set up to hold people back or in OPs case probable a detention camp for the future when they start detaining people for not getting the vaccine. We do not have a mask mandate in our county. The 2 adjoining counties do (St Louis county and Franklin County) Wal Mart has so graciously asked that we wear a mask. Most do. However I was told by a confident source within they can't make you wear one (They insisted don't say it was me that told you) I always assumed they were registering mask compliance...but this can't be either. Compliance still appears to be a good 95-98%. Maybe down a little but not much. Good little sheep. The cattle counter at the door is usually the same guy. Real creepy vibes. Irish eyes |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77032913 United States 11/25/2020 08:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Walmart is F'd up, I went in yesterday to send Christmas money to my kids, just as I have for every Christmas, Birthday or emergency for the last 7 years. Just so happens I needed to renew my drivers license and in MO they stamp void on your plastic and give you a paper version (with pic) until the state sends a new plastic. So I tell the lady I need to send money, cash in hand, she pulls it all up on the screen, all the info is there and then she says (as always) I need to see your license...then she informs me that I can't send money without the plastic version, no other form of ID will do, not even my passport. I can cash a check and they will give me money without a license, but they won't let me send cash (that's the new sign she showed me) I said are you serious? yep, now I have to find an alternate way to get money to the kids...I was SO ticked off. NOTHING Walmart does any more surprises me, can't wait until I live somewhere that I don't have to go in another one Quoting: Serepta Ann i wasnt able to cash a lottery check in walmart it was only $500. it was a lottery commission check there should have been no reason i couldnt cash it I think it is always up to the store. Over 600 and they can't cash it. Under 600 is if they want to cash it or even have that much cash. I cashed a 500 one once at a grocery store and it cleaned out the drawers in customer service. As for the walmart gulag layout....went to one recently. A very dystopian feeling plus they had cops with guns positioned to enforce masks and distancing. Never going again. |

Exactly, that is my whole point. I decided not to buy anything, and quite honestly, I did feel as if I was kidnapped, and wasn't sure how to get out of the place. I believe it is their responsibility to provide alternative routes out besides checkout lanes, and don't know how they get around the fire marshal rules with this scheme. |
