Like it or not, this is part of state's rights. They've always had different environmental regulations. Some frivolous but many not.

I think Republicans in general but way too much trust in corporations to protect the environment and keep us healthy. Over the past 150 years they've poisoned our ground, air and water with all sorts of cancer causing chemicals and pollution giving children respiratory diseases at an alarming rate.

I know many here will hate my position but there has not been one single generation of corporations since the industrial revolution that haven't been shortening our lives and giving us all sorts of diseases. But now some put faith in the bogus science that says climate change is not happening, funded by special interest groups. It reminds me of those commercials from the 50s where doctors were telling you smoking was actually healthy.

Even if you don't believe in climate change you should surely agree that all this pollution is not good for our health.

President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord — which kept a campaign promise — drew quick rebukes from prominent Washington state Democrats, as well as some Republicans and business leaders, but was defended by the state’s top congressional Republican.

Gov. Jay Inslee, in a media conference call with other Democratic governors, blasted the decision and said states like Washington will move to fill the climate leadership void.

“For America, the country that defeated fascism and communism, to now have a president who has run up the white flag of defeat against this global threat of climate change is just pathetic,” he said.

Inslee’s office also announced he’ll join New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and California Gov. Jerry Brown in forming the United States Climate Alliance, a coalition of states devoted to upholding the Paris agreement and taking aggressive action on climate change.
