Cook all day, Carve the bird. Realistically could be eaten in 10 to 15 Mins.
Covid has reduced it to my wife and me. So we chickened out.
Rotasire chicken from the grocery store.
Microwave mashed. Veggies are canned. She wanted asparagus but it was the size of a sharpie and limp.
Store-bought pies and cheesecake.

Normally we do meals on wheels on Thanksgiving day. The fish and game club sponsors and recruits donations and volunteers to package and deliver over 800 meals. We have been steaming the turkey at the club out of speed and convenience. Plus it stays moist. Sounds untraditional but we do put them in a high temp giant grill to brown the skin.
The whole nine yards for those in need. Including fruit and a slice of pie. It is an assembly line of trays and bags of food. Mashed, sweet potatoes, stuffing, squash, peas, and turkey. The girls and boy scouts help out also.
I normally deliver 50 meals. They try to group your deliveries to within a 10-mile radius.

So turkey day has always been a late meal at home for us. 7 to 8 pm. But after doing all the plating and delivering. I'm generally turkeyed out by then anyway.

My favorite part is the sandwiches the next day and of course, open-faced turkey and gravy sandwiches too.

Happy Thanksgiving to the Good People of the USA also.
