Honey-Baked Hams are THE BEST spiral cut hams out there.

Really up-scale item which is always perfectly cut and cooked. They're ready-to-go and often a center-piece at the holiday buffet table.

A full size Virginia Ham probably would cost more, then you have to cook it for hours after soaking it 24hrs to remove the brine flavor. The good ones come wrapped in a muslin bag. Cooking one right is a real art and unless you have a double or triple oven kitchen it's very hard to serve the ham and all sides so everything is just out of the oven warm.

Got a real pro kitchen? Not the stupid marble or granite top counters, but the real deal with several ovens baking and prep counters and storage for all the gear? Of course you don't.

Your wife is a treasure you surely don't deserve...

Was at Winn-Dixie picked up a nice turkey for like $8, But really wanted a nice roasting hen. Found one that was just right and lo and behold it was $44. Went to the butcher guy and asked him about that price, he said well it is a surgically enhanced sterile chicken, really, that's what he said as he stood there rolling his eyes.

A "Honey Baked Ham" Company ham is the best! I order a 1/4 ham every year, and even though they are expensive, you can't get better! No fussing with cooking, you can eat it cold, in sandwiches and all kinds of recipes. I even save the bone for a big pot of soup in the dead of winter!

You should love that woman, she only wants the best for her family, and these hams go a long way!

A fine turkey, none of this water-solution injected crap, of at least 24lbs. A full-size Virginia Ham, Shrimp Cocktails if The Gulf is nearby, an assortment of yummy salads with at least one being gelatin with Bing Cherries, Bean casserol, Brocoli Hollandaise, Cauliflower with mild chedar sauce, Corn Bread dressing with and without pork sausage, more pies than you can count, almost forgot the Mashed Potatoes and Candied Yams, Sweet Potato Pie and Pecan Pie for sure along with Pumpkin and Apple. Possibly a Venison Roast if the man of the house is a hunter; and why wouldn't he be?

None of this Yankee crap like white bread dressing and hurry up let's eat so we can get to bar...

It's really a damn shame when you have to go with gramma to the country club; cause then there's no leftovers, but they do put on a fine spread. Nice to eat in the big private diningroom with all the extended family and cousins...


The quality of life and its madcap daily pace is just that much slower down South... Memories of so many fine people raised with fine manners and sensibilities. Nouveau Riche need not apply...
