I think Tyson is insane,and it's insane to pay to watch this match.

This exhibition and its seeming machismo is kinda silly when you realize that Tyson is a natural heavyweight and Jones is more of a natural light heavyweight or possibly a cruiserweight (who was a very dominant middleweight before all that).

1) Tyson will have a huge weight-advantage, and 2) will be enjoying short 2 minute rounds instead of 3 minutes.

And 3) no headgear, 4) only 8 rounds instead of 10 or 12, and 5) no judges are three more things that all favor Tyson.

Jones, imho, was kinda dumb and desperate for taking this (alleged) ...

This is going to be an embarrassment. Two fighters who are absolute ghosts of their former selves. I remember Tyson’s last outing against Kevin McBride 15 years ago and look how that ended.

It might be interesting for a round or so. I actually think Jones will beat Tyson because at least he has been relatively active.

Regardless, I can’t see them going all guns blazing in an exhibition bout. It will be little more than a spar.

I’m a boxing fan but I don’t think I’ll be paying for this one, especially as it will be on around 4am here.

But it might inspire a few 50-somethings to get in shape again and at least TRY to get back some previous health and fitness.

Mike Tyson is one of those fighters that his head has to be in the game and his emotions stable for him to perform well. When his mind is on other things besides boxing, he doesn't perform well at all and loses easily. As is evident in his later boxing career.

Mike Tyson today is very comfortable in his own skin. He is much more emotionally stable than he was in his prime.

He hasn't fought in years, so he is very hungry for it. And physically, he is in top shape. Despite his rough life, he has aged remarkably well, both physically and mentally.

I think he is going to destroy Roy Jones Jr. and I am a huge Jones fan. In his youth, his hand speed was otherworldly. But speed is the first thing you lose as you age. And he didn't have his prime hand speed, even when he retired. Jones has never had a lot of power and a somewhat questionable jaw.

Against today's Mike Tyson, he is doomed.

It's also worth noting that even though Tyson is considered a small heavyweight, he is a natural heavyweight.

Jones is a natural middle weight. So the weight difference is an advantage for Tyson.

Never watch boxing, or violent sports.

People goading on, and wanting people to hurt each other for your pleasure, makes me sick.

I remember as a kid, seeing chris eubank in uk, beat a boxer called watson i think close to death, and it just disgusted me, to see that such a sport exists.

I am amazed how many love seeing others get hurt for there pleasure.

People who like that stuff, its your business, but people should appreciate not everyone watches these violent sports, and i never will.

The only reason these things are not illegal, is because if it were, there would be illegal boxing trade, where there would be no rules. At least this way, people have to adhere to some rules.

The fact that tyson says he gets erections about punching people, says it all. I just think tyson was heavily exploited by his team around him, as a kid, and they turned him into a real monster. Remember all those people were black, so it was not some white people doing it to him.

I do however think he enjoys it on some level. How can you be the best at something and not enjoy it?

The only person who ever exploited Mike Tyson was Don King. Even Mike will tell you that. He calls him a "slimey reptilian mother******". Mike was doing great as a fighter as long as he had Cus D'Amoto's team around him. Once Don King talked him into leaving those folks, it was the beginning of the end for Tyson.

Oddly enough, once he kicked Don King out of his life, his life started to improve.

i was excited until i read that "no KO" rule. so either its going to be a sparring session, or they agreed to the commission rules just to get the show on the road and if or when there's a KO they can say "oops" and stir controversy.
the only thing tyson knows is to go for the KO, if he aint going for the KO he aint tyson!

Loads of people in public also get a bloodlust, otherwise boxing would not be a public spectacle it is.

I remember back in the early 1990's seeing Roy Jr. running in Pensacola some 10 miles from his house around 2.A.M. At 50+ years old, I doubt you'd see him driving 10 miles from his house.

This is like paying to see a 75 year old Mick Jagger on stage. It's just not the same and I'll just keep my memories of how these athletes used to be vs what they are now, which is a shell of their former selves...

I took up boxing because I hated bullies. I was quite athletic but not the biggest guy. In a world of men, a man must be able to defend himself and those around him.

Boxing is a sport which reflects the reality of this world. If that makes you turn your head away, then do so.

My training in boxing and my proficiency in fighting beyond the ring literally saved my life and another person as well who was going to get stabbed after he had already been knocked unconscious by a brick.

I read it in my Morgan Freeman voice. So much more soothing.
