the watermarks are easy to tell from the fakes, because they are printed at lower resolution (so they are blurrier)

this was supposed to be a safeguard the software looked at.

but because of the way the hack happened, they were forced to feed through chinese counterfeit ballots (the water pipe break)



the chinese counterfeits aren't perfect :) they all have the low res version of the watermark.

I believe the actual technology is "Micro-Dot" , they are using the term "Watermark" because it's more easily understandable.
