Bitcoin is an autonomous distributed planetwide artificial organism that has made a contract with mankind: It exploits our greed, it gives us money and in return we feed it with ever growing computational power which it needs to exist and grow even more powerful.
It has become indestructible already. And it is continuing to grow and become even more powerful.

You would need to change the desires and needs of mankind itself to break this symbiosis. I don't understand what you mean, no one is really using it except for a few whales who only ever hold it, so is it useful, nah Obviously it attracts enough people to keep eating greed and thereby growing further. Nothing has changed this during the past 10 years, why would it change now?
