Kc135r is a cold war era aerial refueling tanker they refuel everybody except helicopters.They routinely fly missions all day every day.


We don't routinely fly nuclear weapons.( period) We stopped that in the 1960s after the broken arrows over Spain and Thule Greenland. and stood "ground alert"during the
latter 1960s& throughout the 1970s. I think they even quit that in the 90s.

B-ones, B-2 (stealth bombers) and B52's are fitted out to deliver conventional gravity (and standoff) munitions also .Bombers train like every body else to get hours in the aircraft and practice bombing.

So bombers taking off doesn't mean anything. (SAC 78-'85. ) B-52s and b-2s flew 36 hour missions from the U.S. to Bagdhad during gulf war -1 (1990). So the middle east is not out of our range.

Now If the icbm fields in the north& western U.S. come alive I'd be concerned.

Yea, in the mid 80’s I was in a building overlooking the base in Riyadh and they’d takeoff like clockwork. First the AWACS version then 12 hours later, the tanker. By the time the tanker got halfway down the runway, you could not longer see the plane through the thick black exhaust smoke.
