You do realize that there food pyramid is wrong, bread should be the smallest thing you consume.

Clean organic vegetables, clean organic fruit and very low processed clean meats.
No refined or man made sugar!

Get off the wheat belly train!

Re: Unusual smell in baking flour now?
We first bought store brand unbleached flour, so we thought thatmight be the difference, but out of caution, we decided to dispose of it and buy standard all purpose flour.

Both of them had a smell that could best be described as hot plastic, or possibly a solvent.

Has anyone else noticed this? This time of year we do a lot more baking, and the flour we just used up smelled fine.

It could be sourced from China.

Re: Unusual smell in baking flour now?
I suggest any foodie who is picky about what they serve their family, just buy wheat. Bakers need various kinds to make bread to cake on a long scale. Many choices are based on gluten content as this is critical based on recipes particularly European artisan quality bread. Get a hand grinder and make what you require. Then you will have the highest quality and likely at bargain prices.

There is nothing one can do about what chemical were used unless you know for a fact what that agricultural process actually is. You might only buy organic or only buy locally or grow your own.

Realize that a perfect way to manipulate citizens is to put additives in food to make citizens compliant. Or control prices so you are at their mercy. None of this is acceptable.

Only 1% of American patients claim to have celiac disease, while many are hypochondriacs who have seized upon gluten as the culprit. The fact of the matter is this historically was limited by ethnicity.

Is there an actual link with ethnicity and disease states or issues with enzyme production? Yes, of course with lactose intolerance, ethanol consumption, sickle cell anemia. But imagine if other ethnicities started claiming such unscientific nonsense based upon some casual claims made on the internet.

Don't do that to yourself. Get some fresh air and go take your poor dog out to a long walk instead. Eat some healthy food.

If worried about GMO food, avoid it like the plague, and grow some of your own food. Get a grip or you will drive your poor long suffering spouse crazy. Try cuddling more and your stress will go down.
