My brother died on Nov 25th. I posted about his death on FB. That evening, I turned off my FB. I sent out a personal email to my friends letting them know I would be taking a break. Tomorrow will be two weeks. I feel so much better as a person now. I don’t miss FB. I don’t keep checking it every couple of minutes like an empty fridge that never has any good sustenance added. Shut that door and leave it shut. I’m happier.

Sorry to hear about your brother. I kept Facebook through all the strife, to keep up with family. I had maybe 30 people on my friends list. After this attack, they can find someone else’s data to harvest. I’m not going to continue to sit by and let them get rich off of me, while they continue to tell me how worthless I am because I’m a straight, white, male.

What a pointless platform

Yeah I just started my new MeWe research and study group and will be out of Facebook completely by January.

Actually MeWe is a lot better platform for study groups in general because you can actually post PDFs and real files.

Facebook is useless for anything but a vanity fair.

Not only does it spy on you but it's actually completely outdated for what we need.

You cant quit FB, part of the terms of agreement

MeWe is a lot better platform for group discussions because not only can you have video sharing but you can have file sharing too.

You can build a real curriculum on MeWe and have a real class setting.

So it's so much better for what our group is trying to accomplish.

I could never stay in Facebook or ever return to it.

In so many ways it's become a relic of the past.

A lot of my friends have already left Facebook during the mass Exodus that happened a few weeks back.

That gone to other platforms and whatnot.

I've been doing a lot of research for the last 6 months because I've been planning on leaving Facebook by the end of the year.

And MeWe is a platform I can really get behind.

It's what we've needed social networking to be for at least a decade.
