COINBASE issues....What's your experience...Here's mine about a recent hack
Hey guys...

Anyone out there had issues with Coinbase?

I was hacked over thanksgiving weekend...Been trying to deal with them since then.

I'm locked out of my account.

I had 4 tickets with them, and they only replied to one about a hacker that was able to withdraw 2500.00 from my bank account through Coinbase. My bank has refunded the money.

I opened a ticket about the 2500.00 being hacked from my bank account around Nov 27th...I received a reply back on the 29th saying that they looked at it and a specialist was going to review the issues and get back with me.

Also, the other 3 tickets, about my 2FA being reconfigured by the hacker, and one about clarity as to where my XLM and XRP being intact have went unanswered except for a canned response... and 2 days ago when I wrote regarding these tickets I received replies that said...

These tickets have been cancelled....

So, I resubmitted again, got new case numbers and I'm still waiting for a personalized response regarding the issues.

Has anyone else had issues like this?

How long am I supposed to wait for any kind of response or resolution?

I've got legal counsel ready and waiting but don't want to go down that path yet, as I don't have any idea how long I should wait before getting a clear response from Coinbase.

Any comments or experiences to share for others that are having problems?

Thanks!

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. But they only got my BTC and not my bank account.

But, it was 160+ BTC

Locked out and no help from Coinbase ever...even after a dozen e-mails.

Coinbase is the place to lose all your crypto!

I've used Coinbase just to buy or sell crypto. And the connection to PayPal is unique (but scary).

Never storing crypto in a Coinbase account. I always send my crypto to be stored on my Trezor cold storage wallets I have in my possession. I keep my Trezors in an EMP proof Faraday bag.

I basically don't trust the internet being up 100%

Never really had a problem so far with Coinbase ... I have been in IT for last 30 years. And have learned the hard way that things can go south fast and without warning.

Most of my coins are on a ledger...but I had some on the exchange... I have legal counsel...

Just don't know how long I should wait for them to reply before going any further. Not sure if an attorney can do anything, or if they would have other avenues to contact Coinbase besides customer service.
