PCR is basically a reaction initiated by polymerase that 'unzips' DNA from a double helix into a single helix. Each single helix then 'builds' it's complement helix and then you have 2 strands of DNA where you only had one. During this reaction the polymerase (which is generally from a living organism and not stable at high temperatures) is destroyed after 1 cycle. Only a doubling of DNA fragments is seen. If he could find a thermostable polymerase he would have a unique and powerful test (PCR). ...so Kary was pondering this on his drive and then remembered the existence of microorgansim that live deep in the sea near thermal vents. He surmised that DNA polymerase from these organisms might be exactly the answer to his problem. So, he turned the car around and went back to the lab to work on PCR and the polymerase from those microorganisms worked as expected. The react could be run repeatedly and the polymerase would not be destroyed. That's as good as I can do from memory. I think there is an article or two about it. |

Fauci doesn't think outside the box or challenge anything. He is a total 'I'm with the majority' type of scientist. That is why a guy like TRUMP who has vision is such a threat to Fauci. With Fauci we would be wearing masks for years and a vaccine would be 3-4 years off still. That's simply not good enough for people like Kary or TRUMP. They will find ways to get things done. Fauci will find ways to NOT get things done. |

He is the real deal. A through and through scientist. A fraud he is not. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77846190 any "scientist" who says masks aren't good, then masks are good -or- vitamins help, then vitamins don't help is a fucking fraud. you are weak. |

When he 'discovered' the PCR test he was stoned af and driving to Big Sur I think for the weekend. So they basically have put the classic 'black goo' nano-organism into the covid vaccine. |
