That's true, but I hadn't noticed that so much. More the incredulous, clearly scripted banter+response, the fact that it's asinine to believe he'd be asked to wear short sleeves/no warm clothing in snow, and that if someone actually did go off script bagging their own cnn network theyd know it'd be career-ending, so would go out with more a bang, emotion, ad hoc speech etc. Plus the producer wouldnt keep cutting back to him for so long knowing the potential for damage. Clearly rehearsed lines, not delivered in a believable off-the-cuff exchange between the two.
